In this session you will learn the best practices, tips and tricks on how to successfully to successfully manage on premises and Azure SQL Server environments and how the DBA job changed. It will cover all the tasks you face in your daily job administrating on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments, helping monitoring and improving query response times when running your databases in any of these environments. These learnings are fruit of Microsoft CSS support cases, and customer field engagements. This session includes several demos.

José Manuel Jurado currently works as SQL Escalation Engineer and Subject Matter Expert in Azure SQL Database at Microsoft Spain. With over 15+ years of experience in SQL Server environments (administration and database development), he is a speaker for internal events at Microsoft and for public events as SQL Saturday, SQL Nexus, TechReady, DotNetConference and Azure BootCamp. In the past, he worked as Project Manager for large Global Retail Company for more than 10 years developing projects using different Microsoft Technologies.

Juan Moreno Romo

Microsoft, Support Escalation Engineer, Azure SQL Server Hybrid

I born in IT as a developer. I worked in Data Modelling, as Consultant, Software Architect and Project Manager in a Consultancy Service Company, what leads me to create my own Consultancy Company. I worked on it for almost 15 years till an awesome company, Microsoft, knock my door. I have delivered training in Developing Technologies, Programming Methodology, Software development process, ALM, different programming languages, Project Managing, Data Modelling, MySQL and SQL among other subjects Currently I am happily working in Microsoft, based in Madrid (Spain), focused in SQL Server Business as Support Escalation Engineer for SQL Server Core in EMEA Azure SQL Server Hybrid team.

All reports to the Global admin team will remain confidential.
